This Thursday, July 6, the launch ceremony of the Gandiaye Digital Forum, also known as Fodiga, took place. This event, which will take place on July 27 and 28 in Gandiaye, aims to make digital technology a lever for growth, innovation, and employment in each region.
Initiated by the Gandiaye City Hall, the event's technological partnership is provided by Transnumerik, represented by its CEO Mody-Oury Barry. According to his statements, his organization provides its expertise in technological solutions, data hosting, and connectivity in collaboration with Sénégal Numérique. By partnering with players such as Microsoft, the company ensures the jiangxi mobile number database of secure software architectures. Mody-Oury Barry emphasizes Transnumerik's essential role as the guardian of this technological community, which will enable the Gandiaye City Hall and other local authorities to achieve their objectives.
Present at this event, the Minister of Local Authorities, Planning and Territorial Development, Mamadou Talla, emphasized the importance of digital technology in supporting local authorities. "Digital technology can support local authorities. In the area of civil status, but not only that. In the training of local stakeholders, in local management and steering, and in several sectors that help develop our territories because the emergence of Senegal will first depend on the emergence of these territories," he declared.
The mayor of Gandiaye, Pape Songdé Diop, considers digital technology an essential lever for local development. He emphasizes the importance of embracing this powerful tool in all sectors, particularly those falling under the jurisdiction of local authorities. According to him, these skills transcend economic and social sectors and contribute to the creation of "smart cities."
The Gandiaye Digital Forum aims to foster innovation, attraction, competitiveness, growth, and job creation in each region through digital technology. It has several objectives, including discussions and reflections on the opportunities offered by digital technology for regional development; the visibility, promotion, and enhancement of digital products and services; and the creation and development of partnerships and collaborations between regions and digital stakeholders. Access to digital technology, capacity building, and the dissemination of digital culture are also among the forum's priorities.
The challenges of the Gandiaye Digital Forum are numerous. These include valuing and promoting the resources and potential of territories, strengthening their competitiveness, attractiveness, and viability, and fostering innovation and resilience in territorial governance.
Furthermore, this event aims to be an instrument for addressing the major current challenges facing local authorities, such as meeting basic social needs, creating jobs, combating poverty, developing local management, as well as the digital and ecological transition.
