The Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Moussa Bocar Thiam, visited the site of Senegal's Digital Technology Park (PTN) in Diamniadio on Monday, April 3. The visit allowed him to see firsthand the progress of the construction site.
This project launched in 2020, financed by the State of Senegal at a cost of 46 billion CFA francs, in an area of 25 hectares, however needs a budget extension of 8 to 10 billion CFA francs. This request is due on the one hand to the Covid-19 crisis, the Ukrainian crisis, but also and on the other hand to unforeseen list of mobile number database in relation to the work. According to Minister Moussa Bocar Thiam, phase 1 of this project allowed the construction of three towers on R+7, 6 buildings which are already ready on R+1, a data center (Data center) designed tier 3, study and research center, an innovation center, an apartment hotel, among other infrastructures of the digital and digital world.
"The purpose of our visit is also to inquire to what extent the work will be finalized. So that His Excellency the President of the Republic can, in a few months, come and inaugurate and make these works available to the Senegalese people, to the ecosystem, the small and medium-sized enterprises of the digital ecosystem," said the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, informing that they have received instructions from the President of the Republic for these institutions to be operational by July 2023...
