Talent Days: Hi Agnieszka, great to see you! First of all, let us get to know you better. Where are you from? How old are you? Maybe you can tell us a fun fact about yourself?
Agnieszka: Hi! I'm 28, I come from Kędzierzyn Koźle in the Opole region, but I've been living in Wrocław for 10 years. Fun fact? In primary school I went swimming a lot, and despite that... I still can't swim.
Talent Days: How did you hear about Talent Days and why did you decide to participate?
Agnieszka: I found out about the job fair online. I took part in it in 2020. It was the time of restrictions caused by the pandemic, so the entire event took place online. At that time, I wanted to change my job – find another one, in an international environment, with the possibility of using my knowledge of English. Previously, I had only worked in Polish companies. I was taking part in a language course at the time and an ad promoting Talent Days flashed before my eyes.
Talent Days: You took part in Talent Days with a specific goal and expectations. Many people decide to come to job fairs because they are an opportunity to meet interesting employers from many industries and to get a feel for the job market. In your case, it was a bit different. Were you looking for a company in a specific industry or were you open to something new?
Agnieszka: I was interested in the economic and financial industry because I had been involved in it before. I had worked in insurance for 4 years. I certainly had a certain orientation. I had heard of BNY Mellon before, but I didn't do much research before the meeting. I knew that it was a leader in investment banks worldwide. I wanted to get a job in the best possible place, so I was determined to do well during the first interview.list of south africa consumer email
